This Sunday, The Amazing Race premieres episode three, "Like James Bond Again."
According to the CBS preview, racers fly to New Zealand where they contend with "feathers, fun and fast cars." James Bond probably comes up during the "fast car" part. We're pretty sure he didn't do much with feathers.
In New Zealand, teams compete in a "Shemozzle Race." According to Frommer's Travel Guide, "the Shepherd's Shemozzle is a challenging obstacle course" run by contestants and their dogs.
In past years, contestants have "eaten dry Weetabix, carried bull's testicles by mouth and drunk cold cooking oil." The Shemozzle website doesn't mention James Bond, although we imagine he'd be a fierce Shemozzle competitor.
According to this clip, father/son team David and Connor must first contend with a sonogram for David's calf muscle. Prepare yourselves, there's some crying involved.
The preview shows David in a walking cast, zipping through the airport in a wheelchair and hobbling through New Zealand fields on crutches. NEVER. EVER. GIVE. UP. says the preview. But then we learn David's inability to work a clutch may prove to be an insurmountable obstacle. It will almost certainly make him cry.
Find out what's so bad about dry Weetabix on Sunday, March 3rd, when CBS airs the next episode of The Amazing Race.
